I wanted to use up some hand pounded Kozo plant fiber, and, give my adult mixed media students a project using monochromatic colors, so I created this piece as inspiration. Adding an oval tree twig, the piece reminded me of a flying bird, thus the title. My father was a butcher, so I used chicken as my bird type.
